Misty L. Franklin

Executive Director

Misty L. Franklin, a passionate social justice advocate, and qualified paralegal is the founder of Restore 180 - an organization that stems from her personal experiences as both the daughter of an incarcerated father serving life in prison and as a young adult who was once committed to the Department of Corrections herself.

She has since dedicated her life's work to creating meaningful change for those affected by incarceration.

During her serving time, she witnessed the damaging outcome of imprisonment on young girls, women, and nonbinary people first-hand. This experience turned out to be a motivating revelation for her.

Despite facing systemic injustice, Misty emerged triumphant and achieved an undergraduate degree in Paralegal Studies, Administration of Justice, Liberal Arts, and Humanities from Cerro Coso Community College.

In addition to this accomplishment, she attained a Bachelor of Science degree in Child Protection and Juvenile Justice from Bellevue University – proving her strength and resilience!

Misty's narrative is a tale of deliverance and mercy. Through Restore 180, she imagines a world without constraints for young women, non-binary people, and all youth – where there is no more societal bias, racial inequality, or systemic prejudice.
